German Bike Builders AMP Motorcycles Create Stunning Beach Scrambler
In the world of custom motorcycles, AMP Motorcycles is a name that stands out. The father-and-son duo, Michael and Allen Posenauer, have been creating exceptional bikes that blend tracker and scrambler styles. Based in Offenbach, Germany, the Posenauers started their customization journey as a hobby but quickly gained recognition for their outstanding work.
Their latest creation is a beach scrambler, which showcases their talent and attention to detail. The project began with a 1983 Honda XL500R, which Michael had owned for some time. Taking their time and without any pressure, the Posenauers meticulously transformed the bike into a true masterpiece.
The first step was to strip the Honda down to its core, removing all the stock bodywork. The original rims were replaced with 18-inch aluminum aftermarket ones, wrapped in dual-purpose Heidenau tires. Stainless-steel spokes were used to connect the new rims to the XL500R wheel hubs. The drum brakes and rear suspension were refurbished, while the forks were fitted with rubber gaiters and shortened for the perfect stance.
The transformation continued with the addition of a vintage Honda fuel tank, skillfully adjusted to fit the new design. A custom bench seat, upholstered in black and white leather, was placed behind the tank. The bike’s bodywork was completed with angular aluminum side panels and a rear fender housing the license plate bracket. The rear fender also features multi-function LED lighting, ensuring street legality without compromising the bike’s clean aesthetic.
AMP Motorcycles’ attention to detail and craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of this beach scrambler. Their passion for creating unique bikes is what sets them apart in the industry. With this latest project, the Posenauers have once again proven why they are at the top of their game.
In a stunning transformation, AMP Motorcycles has taken the Honda XL500R and turned it into a true tracker charm. With a handmade aluminum number board and discreet Highsider blinkers, this bike is a showstopper. The front end is complete with an offset LED projector acting as the headlight, ensuring the party can continue even after the sun sets. The cockpit area has been completely revamped, with a compact Motogadget dial replacing the stock instrumentation. The chromed aftermarket handlebar, equipped with Motone switchgear, adds a modern touch to the bike.
The powertrain sector has not been neglected either. AMP Motorcycles has given the 497cc single-cylinder engine a complete overhaul, ensuring optimal performance. The intake and exhaust have also been upgraded, with a thorough carb clean-up and the installation of a fresh foam air filter. But the real highlight is the high-mounted stainless-steel exhaust setup, configured as a two-into-one layout and finished off with an under-seat muffler.
The bike’s livery is just as impressive as its performance. The black-and-white design, featuring jagged stripes, star motifs, and shiny silver outlining, is truly groovy. And to top it all off, AMP Motorcycles has added a removable surf board rack on the right-hand side, making this bike perfect for any adventure. The team at AMP Motorcycles can now sit back and admire their incredible handiwork.
