LAS VEGAS RAIDERS DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR TO STAY IN 2024
After all the head coaching positions in the NFL have been filled, it appears that Las Vegas Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham will be staying with the team in 2024. Graham’s coaching prowess was evident last season as he led one of the top defenses in the league. Now, there’s a player who could take their defense to new heights.
CHIEFS’ CHRIS JONES COULD JOIN RAIDERS
Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones is set to play in his fourth Super Bowl, but his contract is expiring after the season. If the Chiefs can’t extend him, Jones will become a free agent and Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby wouldn’t mind seeing him in silver and black.
Crosby expressed his enthusiasm for Jones, stating, “I mean, I would take Chris Jones in a heartbeat.” Last season, the Raiders’ defensive tackles combined for 9.5 sacks, while Jones recorded 10.5 sacks on his own. Pairing him with Crosby on the defensive line would give Las Vegas one of the most formidable tandems in the NFL.
COST OF SIGNING CHRIS JONES
The main concern with signing Chris Jones is the price tag that comes with him in free agency. Pro Football Focus projects Jones to receive a four-year contract worth $120 million. However, the Raiders have a comfortable $43 million in salary cap space this offseason, making it feasible for them to afford a high-profile player like Jones.
RAIDERS’ DEFENSE POISED FOR IMPROVEMENT
Las Vegas’ defense showcased its potential last season by finishing ninth in points allowed per game (19.5). Surprisingly, the team allocated the second-fewest salary cap dollars to the defense. Investing heavily in a proven player like Jones could be the missing piece that propels the Raiders’ defense into the top five next season.
JONES’ IMPACT ON THE RIVAL CHIEFS
At just 29 years old, Jones still has several strong years ahead of him. Additionally, signing the talented defensive tackle would also weaken the Raiders’ rival, the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s a win-win situation for Las Vegas.
MAXX CROSBY PARTNERS WITH INVISALIGN
Maxx Crosby, one of the NFL’s prominent defensive players, has teamed up with Invisalign to perfect his teeth and boost his confidence. Despite his success on the field, Crosby has dealt with insecurities, and he believes that improving his smile will enhance his self-assurance.
Crosby shared, “I didn’t have braces growing up,” emphasizing his desire to enhance his dental aesthetics.
