Álvaro Carpe will start from pole position in the last two races of the FIM JuniorGP World Championship season. The final round of the year takes place at Estoril.
The Spanish rider from STV Laglisse Racing leads the championship and is close to claiming the title. On Tuesday, he dominated qualifying, setting a best lap of 1m42.960s.
In order to secure the pole position, Carpe narrowly edged out Brian Uriarte (Seventy Two Artbox Racing Team/KTM) by just 13 thousandths of a second. Máximo Quiles (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0/Honda) secured third place, just 0.124s off the pole.
Jesús Rios (MRE Talent/KTM), currently second in the championship standings, faces a tougher challenge starting from seventh place on the grid – right behind Adrián Cruces (Finetwork Team/KTM), the other rider still in contention to beat Carpe for the title.
