Danielle Collins’ tennis career isn’t over just yet! Despite announcing earlier this year that 2024 would be her final season, the American star has had a change of heart. After battling health challenges and storming back with titles in Miami and Charleston, Collins, now ranked No. 9, took to Instagram to share the news: “The DANIMAL story has not reached its conclusion. I will be back on tour in 2025.”
Collins had initially planned to retire, citing her desire to pursue a family and other goals outside tennis. “Obviously, having kids is a big priority for me,” she said. But life had other plans, as she faced challenges around her battle with endometriosis, which has impacted her health and fertility journey. Still, she’s not done yet: “The only guarantee for now will be some more epic matches.”
Fans and fellow players have rallied behind her, offering support through what has been an unpredictable year. Collins, always open about her struggles with endometriosis, is focused on managing her health but isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to the court. “Dealing with endometriosis and fertility is a massive challenge… but I am fully confident in the team I am working with.”
So, Collins’ journey continues, and her fans can look forward to seeing more of her fierce competitiveness in 2025. One thing’s for sure: the DANIMAL is not done yet!
