Legendary golfer Sir Nick Faldo and his wife, Lady Lindsay Faldo, just made a bold move: they’re deleting their X accounts by the end of the week, and their reasons hit hard. In a since-deleted post, the couple revealed that X, formerly known as Twitter, has become too toxic for them. Explicit content, violent images, disturbing videos, and aggressive language have pushed them to say goodbye to the platform they once used to stay close to their followers.
“After many years of having accounts on what is now known as ‘X,’ we have decided to remove our personal accounts from the platform and will do so by the end of the week,” they shared, adding, “While we appreciate the free speech forum that the brilliant Elon Musk has encouraged and developed, we feel the growing number of posts with overly explicit content… is not of interest to us or healthy for anyone.”
While Sir Nick and Lady Lindsay will stay active on other social media platforms, their business accounts will still operate on X. But this departure raises a bigger question: Is X really becoming too toxic for some? Musk’s $44 billion rebranding move has sparked plenty of debate, with some finding X empowering, while others, like the Faldos, are heading for the exit.
Is this just the start of a bigger exodus, or will people adapt to the new reality of X? Stay tuned!
