Donald Trump has gone on record to question Kamala Harris’s fitness for the presidency, citing what he describes as “serious” health issues from her medical report, which actually lists seasonal allergies and occasional hives. “These are deeply serious conditions that clearly impact her functioning,” Trump announced on Truth Social, adding that Harris’s “dangerous” symptoms could prevent her from handling the duties of the presidency.
The Vice President’s medical report, released by Dr. Joshua Simmons, reveals Harris is in “excellent health” and manages seasonal allergies with a nasal spray, no major symptoms noted. Despite the straightforward report, Trump zeroed in on her “allergic rhinitis” and hives, calling it a “very messy and dangerous situation.” Seasonal allergies impact millions of Americans each year, causing mild discomfort but hardly incapacitating cognitive abilities. Trump insists that Harris needs a “Cognitive Stamina and Agility Test,” criticizing her recent interviews as “slow and lethargic,” insinuating her “mental decline.”
Dr. Simmons, however, confirmed Harris’s mental health is in top shape, highlighting her “resiliency required to execute duties as Chief Executive.” Dr. Simmons adds that her lifestyle habits, such as cardio and strength training, and regular vitamin intake, contribute to her stable health.
Trump’s critique comes amid increasing scrutiny over the health of candidates, particularly as President Biden steps back. Trump posted on X about his “perfect health” and repeated his position that Harris’s medical report is “not good.” His own “flawless” health, according to him, is enough to outlast any challenge posed by allergies.
