The Israeli army announced today that it has killed around 70 Hezbollah fighters and struck more than 120 Hezbollah-affiliated targets in southern Lebanon and southern Beirut, the Shiite group’s stronghold devastated by Israeli attacks.
“Overnight, the Israeli Armed Forces conducted precise strikes based on intelligence against weapons manufacturing and maintenance facilities, as well as a weapons depot belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Dahye, a key stronghold,” the military stated.
Additionally, Israeli forces targeted Hezbollah’s air unit infrastructure and engaged militants firing at Israeli troops, who initiated a ground invasion of Lebanon on October 1.
Meanwhile, Israel’s emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, reported that two Israeli men were injured—one 61-year-old with minor chest injuries and a 31-year-old with a hand injury—following a Hezbollah drone attack on the Bar Lev industrial park near Karmiel in northern Israel.
Crisis Intensifies in Gaza
In Gaza, the Israeli army reported today that over 40 militants were killed in the northern Jabalia area in just the last 24 hours. The region has been under military siege for over 21 days, with hundreds of Palestinian casualties, including women and children.
On Saturday, Gaza’s Civil Defense warned that its teams were overwhelmed by the high volume of rescue requests from northern Gaza. Due to ongoing attacks and the blockade on hospitals, such as Kamal Adwan, where 44 healthcare workers have reportedly been detained, many cries for help have gone unanswered.
“We cannot respond to the multiple calls and requests we receive from homes bombarded and burned by Israeli forces in Jabalia and Al Nazla,” Mahmoud Basal, a spokesperson for Gaza Civil Defense, stated on Telegram.
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, denounced the situation as “catastrophic” on social media, highlighting that “intense military operations” around hospitals, combined with severe resource shortages, are depriving Gaza residents of essential medical care.
