Carolina Hurricanes bolster roster with Kevin Labanc signing

The Carolina Hurricanes are making strategic moves this offseason, signaling their intent to strengthen the roster ahead of the upcoming season. In their latest maneuver, the Hurricanes have signed Kevin Labanc to a professional tryout, a decision first reported by Elliotte Friedman.

A Look at Labanc’s Journey

Labanc, a former sixth-round draft pick, was selected 171st overall by the San Jose Sharks in 2014. He made his NHL debut during the 2016-17 season, appearing in 55 games. His breakout performance came the following year, where he played in 77 matches, netting 11 goals and contributing an impressive 29 assists.

Adding Depth to the Lineup

This signing marks the third professional tryout the Hurricanes have arranged this offseason, following the additions of two other veterans. Labanc’s experience and offensive capabilities could provide valuable depth to a team that has consistently aimed for postseason success.

As the Hurricanes prepare for training camp, all eyes will be on Labanc to see if he can secure a spot on the roster and contribute to Carolina’s pursuit of a deep playoff run.
