Will Anderson Jr. earns Pro Bowl recognition, sets sights on Super Bowl for Texans

The Houston Texans have made headlines this season with four players earning Pro Bowl selections, and among them is the standout edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. This marks the third-year player’s second consecutive Pro Bowl nod, following his first selection in 2024. Anderson has truly shined in this campaign, delivering his most productive season yet.

Dominant Performance

In just 15 games, Anderson has exceeded his previous season high with an impressive 11.5 sacks. His contributions don’t stop there; he has also recorded 45 total tackles, including 17 tackles for loss, and forced three fumbles. These statistics illustrate not only his individual prowess but also highlight his critical role in powering Houston’s elite defensive unit. As Anderson continues to establish himself among the NFL’s premier edge rushers, his performances resonate throughout the league.

A Grateful Yet Ambitious Mindset

While Anderson is understandably thrilled about the recognition that comes with his Pro Bowl selection, he emphasizes that his aspirations extend far beyond individual accolades. Reflecting on the honor, he expressed gratitude, stating, “It’s a blessing. I’ve got to give all glory to God, man. He shocks me.” He acknowledged the support from fans, teammates, and the league, noting, “Thank you for all the voting… it means a lot. Just your hard work being paid off.”

However, Anderson quickly pivoted to the bigger picture: the Super Bowl. “At the end of the day, like, that’s great. But the biggest bowl that we trying to be in is the Super Bowl, man,” he asserted. With a playoff push on the horizon, Anderson underscored the importance of staying focused. “We had a great day of practice today. Everybody’s just being intentional, being locked in. This is a big game coming up for us. Big playoff game, honestly, man, and it’s going to put us right where we need to be at for us to make that playoff run.”

As the Texans gear up for the challenges ahead, Anderson’s ambition and determination are clear, reflecting a fierce commitment not just to personal success, but to the team’s quest for a championship.
