Vikings Activate Key Players Ahead of Showdown with Lions

The Minnesota Vikings have made a significant announcement as they prepare to face the Detroit Lions. The team confirmed that both starting offensive tackles, Christian Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill, will be active for today’s game. This comes as a relief to fans and the coaching staff alike, given the critical role both players play on the offensive line.

Injury Updates and Active Players

In addition to the offensive line reinforcements, linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel has also been cleared to play. Van Ginkel, who has been on the sidelines since Week 3 due to a neck injury, was listed as questionable leading up to the game. His presence will be crucial as the Vikings look to contain the Lions’ offensive threats.

The Vikings released their inactive list early Sunday morning, revealing which players would not suit up. Those inactive for the game include:

Among these, the absence of tight end Josh Oliver is notable. Oliver suffered a foot sprain in last week’s matchup against the Chargers, which will affect blocking schemes against a formidable Lions defense that features edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson.

Defensive Adjustments

With Okudah ruled out due to a concussion, the Vikings will rely more heavily on Dwight McGlothern at cornerback. Additionally, the team has activated cornerback Fabian Moreau from the practice squad to bolster their defensive backfield.

Lions’ Inactive Players

On the other side, the Lions have their share of significant losses. All-Pro safety Kerby Joseph is the most notable name on their inactive list. He is joined by:
