Trevor Lawrence Prepares for Titans Showdown, Shrugs Off Weather Concerns
Jacksonville, Fla. – Ahead of the highly anticipated clash against the Tennessee Titans in Week 13, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence took to the podium on Wednesday to address the media. With rain possibly in the forecast, Lawrence offered his thoughts on both the upcoming road game and the challenges that weather may present.
Adjusting to Road Challenges
As the Jaguars gear up for their fourth away game in five weeks, Lawrence expressed a sense of adaptability.
“You start to get used to it,” he stated. “Whatever they put in front of us is our schedule, you just go play it. It’s good for us to handle that. At the end of the day, it’s just football. Playing at home is definitely easier than playing on the road, but this experience has been beneficial for our team.”
He acknowledged the importance of the upcoming game against a division rival, emphasizing the need for a strong performance.
“This is a big one in Tennessee, a game we need to play well and go get a win,” he added.
Navigating Wet Conditions
When asked about the impact of potential rain on his gameplay, Lawrence remained unfazed.
“Not really,” he replied when questioned if he would adjust his preparation for wet conditions. “We just try to keep the ball dry as much as we can. Our equipment staff does an awesome job of rotating the balls in and out and keeping them dry.”
Lawrence mentioned his use of a hand warmer designed to keep his grip secure, highlighting the team’s proactive approach to managing the elements.
“I usually have one of those hand warmers, but instead of just being fuzzy and warm, it has a drying material that keeps your hands dry,” he explained. “That’s about it.”
Experience with Wet Conditions
Reflecting on his past experiences with inclement weather, Lawrence noted that adaptability is key.
“I think a little bit, of course, as a thrower, you’d prefer the ball to be dry,” he admitted. “But you get used to it. It’s almost like you’d rather the ball be really wet than just when it gets wet. When the ball’s kind of getting soaked, it actually becomes a little better to handle, as long as it’s not too heavy.”
He concluded with a sense of anticipation for the upcoming game, ready to embrace whatever conditions await him on the field.
“We’ll see what happens Sunday,” he said, leaving fans eager to see how the Jaguars will perform against their rivals in Nashville.
