Todd Bowles delivers disappointing news for Buccaneers fans
The injury status of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Bucky Irving and Chris Godwin has raised concerns among fans as the team prepares to face the Buffalo Bills.
Injury updates on key players
As the Buccaneers continue their season, they have witnessed a gradual return to health for several key players. However, the absence of two significant contributors will be felt on the field. Running back Bucky Irving, sidelined since Week 4 due to a shoulder injury, and wide receiver Chris Godwin, who has been out since Week 5 with a fibula injury, will not return this Sunday.
Both players had been missing from practice for several weeks, creating uncertainty about their recovery. Fortunately, they made an appearance at practice on Wednesday and Thursday, even participating in Friday’s session. Despite this encouraging progress, Head Coach Todd Bowles confirmed that neither player is ready to take the field against the Bills.
Bowles addresses media
During a media briefing on Friday, Bowles addressed the situation directly. He stated that both Irving and Godwin would be ruled out for the upcoming game, but he emphasized their positive trajectory in practice. The coach noted, “Bucky and Chris are making progress, but they won’t be available on Sunday.”
The Buccaneers will now have to look elsewhere for offensive firepower as they prepare for a tough matchup against Buffalo. The absence of these two playmakers could significantly impact the team’s strategy and execution on game day.
