Titans breathe a sigh of relief as Dan Moore Jr. suits up despite illness scare against Texans

The Tennessee Titans received a welcome boost to their offensive line as Dan Moore Jr. was cleared to play in their Week 4 matchup against the Houston Texans. After waking up with an illness that prompted a late addition to the injury report, Moore’s presence on the field is crucial for a squad already grappling with injuries.

Moore’s Situation

Moore, while not at full strength, is active for the game, a positive development for the Titans who are contending with a depleted roster. His experience and versatility will be essential as the Titans face a formidable Texans defensive line. The offensive line, which has been a concern this season, will feature Moore alongside Kevin Zeitler, Lloyd Cushenberry, and Peter Skoronski, with Oli Udoh stepping in at right tackle to replace the injured JC Latham.

Injury Report Overview

The Titans’ injury report reveals several key players sidelined for the matchup:

OT JC Latham: Latham is out for a third consecutive week due to a hip injury sustained in the season opener against the Denver Broncos. His absence continues to put pressure on the remaining offensive linemen as they adjust to the challenges presented by the Texans.

DB Kevin Winston Jr.: The third-round draft pick from Penn State remains inactive for the fourth week in a row, nursing a hamstring injury. He practiced in a limited capacity earlier in the week, hinting that his NFL debut might be on the horizon. In his absence, the safety position will be manned by Xavier Woods, Quandre Diggs, and Amani Hooker.

CB Samuel Womack Jr.: Womack finds himself inactive for his fourth straight game. Acquired from the Indianapolis Colts, he has yet to step onto the field for the Titans, remaining in street clothes as the team navigates its roster.

OT John Ojukwu: Ojukwu’s surprise scratch is notable, particularly since he had started the previous two games at right tackle. With Moore’s availability, the Titans opted for a different strategic alignment, leaving Ojukwu out this week.

OL Jackson Slater: After making his NFL debut against the Colts last week, Slater returns to the sidelines with Zeitler back in the lineup.

WR Bryce Oliver: Oliver will miss his second consecutive game due to a knee injury that kept him from practicing this week.

The Titans are set to face the Texans at NRG Stadium, where the outcome will hinge on how well the offensive line can gel under the circumstances. The return of Moore, despite his illness, provides a glimmer of hope in an otherwise challenging situation for Tennessee’s offensive strategy.
