Texans’ DeMeco Ryans Attributes Late-Game Mastery to Three-Game Win Streak

The Houston Texans have hit their stride in recent weeks, achieving a remarkable three-game winning streak that has propelled them to a 6-5 record. With their sights set on a fourth consecutive victory, they face a critical matchup against their division rival, the Indianapolis Colts.

Solidifying Defensive Dominance

One key element of this success has been the Texans’ defense, which has emerged as one of the most formidable units in the league. They have consistently stifled opposing offenses, allowing the team to stay competitive in games. Meanwhile, the offense, led by Davis Mills in the absence of the injured C.J. Stroud, has managed to keep pace, creating a favorable scenario for the Texans as they aim to carve out a spot in the AFC playoff picture.

The Importance of Finishing Strong

Head coach DeMeco Ryans points to the team’s ability to close out games as a pivotal factor in their recent success. Earlier in the season, the Texans struggled to maintain composure in crucial moments. However, Ryans has noted a marked improvement. “Each game is its own deal, and whatever we have to do in that particular game to win, we won in a variety of different ways,” he stated ahead of the Colts matchup. “So to me, what have we done? We found a way to finish. That’s what’s been a difference for us in these past three games.”

Clutch Performances Define Recent Victories

The Texans’ knack for executing in high-pressure situations has been evident in their last three outings. In Week 10, they staged a remarkable comeback against the Jacksonville Jaguars, scoring 19 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory. The following week, a walk-off field goal sealed a narrow win on the road against the Tennessee Titans. Most recently, on Thursday Night Football, Calen Bullock’s timely interception of Josh Allen during the Buffalo Bills’ final drive further highlighted the Texans’ late-game prowess.

With their newfound confidence and momentum, the Texans are eager to continue their winning ways against the Colts, as they look to solidify their position in the competitive landscape of the AFC.
