Tee Higgins Cleared to Play Sunday Against Bills

Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is set to make his return on Sunday after successfully clearing the concussion protocol. This comes after he sustained a concussion in the fourth quarter of Cincinnati’s Week 12 loss to New England, which sidelined him for last week’s game in Baltimore.

Higgins Reflects on Concussion Experience

“Yeah, I feel good,” Higgins said, reflecting on his recovery process. He acknowledged the realities of the game, stating, “It happens. It’s football.” This incident marked a troubling chapter in Higgins’ career, as he admitted this concussion was the “worst one” he has experienced. The injury occurred when his head struck the turf at Paycor Stadium after he attempted to leap for a pass late in the Bengals’ 26-20 defeat.

“ You gotta take this serious,” Higgins emphasized. “You can’t rush back from something like this.” His cautious approach highlights the significant concerns surrounding head injuries in football.

A Star-Studded Return

Sunday’s matchup against the Bills will be pivotal not just for Higgins, but also for the Bengals as a whole. It marks the first time this season that Higgins, along with fellow stars Ja’Marr Chase and quarterback Joe Burrow, will all be on the field together since their Week 2 clash against the Jaguars. This trio’s chemistry could be vital as they aim to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

Chasing Personal Milestones

As the season progresses, Higgins has accumulated 40 receptions for 575 yards and seven touchdowns. With three games remaining, he stands just three touchdowns shy of matching his career-high of 10 from last season. Additionally, in order to achieve the coveted 1,000-yard mark for the third time in his career, he needs to average 85 receiving yards per game over the final five contests.

With the Bengals looking to solidify their playoff positioning, Higgins’ return could be a game-changer. His presence on the field will not only boost the offense but also provide a much-needed spark as they aim to make a deep playoff run.
