Ravens Players Spread Holiday Cheer Through Community Service
In the midst of a tumultuous Week 16, the Baltimore Ravens have taken a moment to pause and give back to their community. Recently, several team members participated in a heartwarming holiday event at Severn Elementary School, where they washed the feet of local students and generously donated new shoes.
Notable Players Join in the Kindness
Among the Ravens who lent their support were quarterback Lamar Jackson, running back Derrick Henry, and wide receiver Zay Flowers. Their involvement highlights a commitment to service that resonates deeply within the organization.
The Ravens Foundation organized the event, showcasing the players’ dedication to uplifting their local community. Photos shared on the team’s official Instagram account captured the joyous moments of connection between the athletes and the students.
Promoting Humility and Service
Team chaplain Johnny Shelton, who played a pivotal role in leading the initiative, took to social media to commend the players for their efforts. “Ravens players served students today by washing their feet and providing them with new shoes. These acts of service represent the importance of humility and serving others,” he wrote.
Shelton expressed his pride in the team’s commitment to community service, stating, “There’s always been something so special about the Ravens organization! What an incredible way to serve the community.”
This event not only provided much-needed support to the children but also reinforced the Ravens’ values of humility and compassion as they navigate the ups and downs of their season.
