Miami Dolphins Injury Report: A Healthier Squad Ahead of Browns Clash
The Miami Dolphins are gearing up for a critical matchup against the Cleveland Browns, and for the first time this season, the team is approaching the game with a notably healthy roster. With just three players designated on the injury report, the Dolphins are looking to regain momentum after a series of challenging weeks.
Injury Status Update
The most significant absence for Miami will be defensive back Elijah Campbell, who has been ruled out for the second consecutive game due to a quadriceps injury sustained in practice last week. This injury comes at an unfortunate time, as Campbell was being considered for the nickel corner position—a role that defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver had indicated would provide him an opportunity to shine.
Meanwhile, cornerback Storm Duck and linebacker Tyrel Dodson are both listed as questionable but appear to be on track for a return. Duck has not played since suffering an ankle injury in the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts, while Dodson missed the recent game against the L.A. Chargers due to a concussion. Both players participated fully in Friday’s practice, and head coach Mike McDaniel has expressed optimism about their potential contributions against the Browns.
The decision surrounding Duck’s starting position remains a point of interest. After starting the season opener, he will need to compete for his spot against veteran Rasul Douglas, who has impressed in Duck’s absence.
The only other Dolphins player who was not a full participant in practice was tight end Darren Waller. He continues to be carefully managed due to a hip issue that hampered him during training camp. Center Aaron Brewer, who had been limited in practice earlier in the week with a pectoral injury, was a full participant on Friday, indicating a positive trajectory for his health.
Browns’ Injury Challenges
Contrastingly, the Browns are facing a more daunting injury situation as they head into this contest. While they ruled out only one player—tight end David Njoku—his absence is particularly impactful for a Cleveland offense that has struggled to find its rhythm. Njoku ranks second on the team in receptions, trailing only rookie Harold Fannin, who leads with 28 catches.
Additionally, the Browns have five players listed as questionable, including two key starters. Starting right tackle Jack Conklin is dealing with a concussion, and rookie defensive tackle Mason Graham was unexpectedly added to the injury report after suffering a knee injury during practice. Conklin was limited during Friday’s practice, while Graham did not participate alongside Njoku.
The other questionable players include defensive tackle Mike Hall (knee), wide receiver Gage Larvadain (concussion), and defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (hip). Hall and Tryon-Shoyinka were full participants in practice, while Larvadain was limited in his participation.
As the Dolphins prepare to face the Browns, they will look to capitalize on their health advantage, seeking to secure a much-needed victory and regain their footing in the competitive landscape of the NFL.
