Dolphins Celebrate Returns of Aaron Brewer and Rasul Douglas
The Miami Dolphins received a welcome boost as cornerback Rasul Douglas and offensive lineman Aaron Brewer returned to practice on a limited basis. This marked Douglas’s first appearance on the field since suffering foot and ankle injuries during the team’s 28-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Brewer, while dealing with similar issues, had managed to play every snap in the Dolphins’ recent 30-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills.
Injury Updates and Full Participation
In addition to the return of Douglas and Brewer, linebacker Chop Robinson participated fully in practice for the second consecutive day. Robinson is inching closer to being cleared to play after missing the game against Buffalo due to a concussion. The Dolphins’ injury report reflects a positive trend, especially with key players gradually making their way back.
On the other side, the Washington Commanders’ injury report revealed two changes from the previous day. Defensive end Drake Jackson was designated to return from injured reserve, while tight end Ben Sinnott is dealing with an ankle injury. However, Washington still had four players sidelined, including quarterback Jayden Daniels, linebacker Ale Kaho, wide receiver Treylon Burks, and wide receiver Terry McLaurin. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that McLaurin would not be available for the matchup against the Dolphins.
Family Reunion in Madrid
In a delightful twist of fate, Dolphins tackle Patrick Paul found himself reunited with his older brother, Chris Paul, who plays guard for the Commanders. The siblings seized the opportunity to connect while both teams are in Madrid for their upcoming game. Patrick expressed his joy at seeing Chris after months apart, stating, “I haven’t seen him all season. It’s been great seeing him out here in Spain. Yeah, I’m excited to watch him play.”
The two brothers explored Madrid together on their day off, underscoring the unique bond and the serendipity of reuniting in a city far from home. “It’s definitely crazy, me not seeing him in months and the first time we link up is in Spain,” Patrick remarked. “Definitely it’s been a blessing just everything with that. It’s been great.”
Familiar Faces Return
As the Dolphins prepare for their upcoming game, they will encounter several familiar faces on the Washington roster. Among them is former Miami wide receiver Robbie Chosen, who was recently signed off the Commanders’ practice squad. Additionally, three former Dolphins players remain on Washington’s practice squad: 2019 third-round pick Michael Deiter, running back Chase Edmonds, and wide receiver River Cracraft.
Voices of the Team
The atmosphere in the Dolphins’ camp is filled with enthusiasm, as evidenced by the spirited interactions among players and coaches. Defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver reflected on a particularly animated moment during the Buffalo game, where he shared a jubilant chest bump with head coach Mike McDaniel. “That was completely organic,” Weaver said. “I’d like to sit in here and say it was planned or something like that. That was pure and raw unadulterated emotion.”
Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Frank Smith humorously noted his isolation in a ballroom since arriving in Spain, saying, “I could be anywhere in the world right now because it’s a ballroom. I’m looking forward to Friday and experiencing Madrid.”
As the Dolphins gear up for their match against the Commanders, the atmosphere remains upbeat, with the return of key players and the excitement of familial connections enriching their experience abroad.
