Jordyn Brooks Shines in Pro Bowl Fan Voting as Tackle Title Chase Heats Up
As the NFL season progresses, Miami Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks is making headlines not just for his impressive performance on the field but also for his strong showing in the fan voting for the upcoming Pro Bowl. With the announcement of the AFC and NFC rosters set for Tuesday morning, the NFL revealed the final fan voting results on Monday, and Brooks has emerged as a frontrunner. He ranked third among all inside linebackers and notably secured the top spot among AFC players at his position.
Dolphins Players Make Their Mark
Brooks isn’t alone in his accolades; he is one of six Dolphins players who placed in the top 10 of fan voting within their respective positions. Aaron Brewer finished fourth among centers and third in the AFC, while Alec Ingold secured fifth among fullbacks, ranking third in the conference. Additionally, De’Von Achane was seventh among running backs, also placing third in the AFC. Minkah Fitzpatrick and Malik Washington rounded out the list, ranking tenth among free safeties and return specialists, respectively.
Despite the Dolphins’ challenging 6-9 record, which may hinder individual recognition, there’s a strong consensus that both Brooks and Achane are poised for their first Pro Bowl selections. Brewer, while also in the mix, faces stiff competition from established players such as Creed Humphrey of the Kansas City Chiefs and Luke Wattenberg of the Denver Broncos.
Understanding the Selection Process
Fan voting constitutes one-third of the Pro Bowl selection process, with the remaining two-thirds determined by players and coaches. This year, the 2026 Pro Bowl Games will take place during Super Bowl LX Week in the San Francisco Bay Area. Historically, the Dolphins have had limited representation in the Pro Bowl, with tight end Jonnu Smith being the sole representative this season, stepping in as a replacement for Travis Kelce.
Brooks’ Quest for Tackle Supremacy
Jordyn Brooks is not only making a name for himself in fan voting but also in the race for the NFL tackle title. In a recent game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he recorded 14 tackles, marking his ninth game this season with double-digit tackles. With a total of 169 tackles, he holds a narrow lead over Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Devin White, who trails by nine.
A month ago, Brooks enjoyed a more comfortable lead of 22 tackles after a remarkable 20-tackle performance against the Washington Commanders. However, White has been relentless, averaging over 14 tackles per game in his last four outings. As the regular season approaches its conclusion, the Raiders are set to face the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs, while the Dolphins will wrap up their season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots.
Jordyn Brooks’ journey is one to watch as he seeks both Pro Bowl honors and the elusive tackle title. His performance is a testament to his hard work and determination, making him a standout player in a challenging season for the Dolphins.
