Kansas City Chiefs bolster practice squad with Kam Arnold and Marcus Harris
The Kansas City Chiefs are making strategic moves as they approach the end of the season. With their final game on Sunday, the team is also preparing to finalize its practice squad. In a notable development, Kansas City has signed linebacker Kam Arnold and defensive tackle Marcus Harris to practice-squad contracts, adding depth to their roster as they look toward the future.
New Additions to the Roster
With these recent signings, the Chiefs now occupy 12 of the 16 available spots on their practice squad. This proactive approach underscores the team’s commitment to evaluating potential talent for the 2026 season.
Kam Arnold, a 6-foot-1, 229-pound rookie from Boston College, comes to the Chiefs after a brief tenure with the Washington Commanders. Initially signed as an undrafted free agent in May, Arnold was waived at the conclusion of the preseason and found himself out of the league until Kansas City came calling. During his five-year college career at Boston College, Arnold participated in 55 games, showcasing his versatility as he transitioned from a defensive back to a linebacker.
Experience and Potential
On the other side of the line, Marcus Harris, a 6-foot-3, 295-pound defensive lineman, adds significant weight and experience to the Chiefs’ practice squad. Harris entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick by the Houston Texans in the 2024 draft. His rookie season saw him split time between the practice squads of the Texans and the New England Patriots. Most recently, he participated in training camp with the Buffalo Bills, looking to make his mark in the league.
Both players now have the opportunity to impress Kansas City’s coaching staff and potentially secure a more permanent spot on the roster in the coming years. As the Chiefs continue their pursuit of excellence, these signings reflect their ongoing efforts to cultivate and evaluate emerging talent within the organization.
