Jayden Daniels vows comeback as Commanders regroup after tough 28-17 loss to Packers

The Washington Commanders faced a tough setback against the Green Bay Packers, falling 28-17 at the iconic Lambeau Field. Following the game, quarterback Jayden Daniels expressed his frustration and determination to improve, emphasizing the need for collective accountability.

Daniels reflects on the loss

In a postgame press conference, Daniels acknowledged the team’s struggles, highlighting his own performance, which included a completion rate of just 57.1 percent, totaling 200 yards and a lone touchdown. “Like I said, they executed their scheme, whatever it was. They executed really well because they won the game,” Daniels remarked. “We just didn’t make plays. It starts with me. It starts with everybody up front. It starts with the whole offensive skill group. So it is not pointing the finger at anybody. Collectively, we are all to blame, and we will get back to work.”

A stark contrast to last season

This loss marked a notable departure from the Commanders’ performance a year ago. The Packers, capitalizing on their game plan, outperformed Washington on both sides of the ball. Despite the Commanders’ efforts to remain competitive, falling behind by multiple scores proved too much to overcome. With a record now standing at 1-1, the team has an opportunity to regroup during an extended rest period before facing the Las Vegas Raiders.

Looking ahead with focus

Daniels remains optimistic as the team prepares for its next challenge. “We have ten days to our next game, so there is nothing to dwell about. It is early in the season. I wouldn’t expect anyone in this locker room to hit the panic button. We faced a really good team and came up short. So we’re moving onto the next game,” he stated confidently.

The Commanders will have the chance to bounce back when they host the Raiders at Northwest Stadium, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the action on FOX or stream the game on the NFL+ app. In the meantime, the team is focused on regrouping and refining their strategies in preparation for their upcoming matchup.
