Houston Texans Injury Report: Key Players Stroud and Pitre Cleared for Colts Showdown

The Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts have finalized their injury reports ahead of their crucial Week 13 matchup, revealing some notable absences for the Texans but also some encouraging news regarding key players.

Texans Injury Report

CB Ajani Carter: OUT (hamstring)
LB Jamal Hill: OUT (hamstring)

The Texans will be without two reserve players this weekend. Undrafted rookie cornerback Ajani Carter, who recently earned a spot on the 53-man roster, has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Linebacker Jamal Hill is also sidelined, dealing with a similar issue.

Both players missed practice throughout the week, and the official announcement confirms their absence as the Texans prepare to face off against the Colts in Indianapolis.

Healthy Faces for the Texans

Despite the setbacks, the Texans are looking considerably healthier than in previous weeks. The most significant news is the return of quarterback C.J. Stroud and safety Jalen Pitre, both of whom are set to be active for the first time since Week 9. Their absence was due to concussions sustained against the Denver Broncos, which had placed them under the NFL’s concussion protocol for the last three games.

Additionally, Houston’s star edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. has also been cleared to play, lifting the Texans’ defensive prospects. He was absent from practice earlier in the week due to a chest issue but has since recovered and will take the field against the Colts.

Colts Injury Outlook

On the Colts’ side, quarterback Daniel Jones has made a full recovery from his fractured fibula and will step into his usual starting role without any injury designation ahead of kickoff. This marks a positive turn for the Colts as they look to capitalize on their offensive capabilities.

The only notable absence for Indianapolis is linebacker Jaylon Carlies, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury. Carlies has been a consistent presence in the Colts’ lineup for six games this season, making his absence felt.

Implications for the Matchup

As both teams gear up for this pivotal divisional clash, the health of the rosters plays a crucial role. With key players like Stroud and Pitre returning to action, the Texans may find themselves in a stronger position to contend against a Colts team that is also looking to maintain momentum.

This matchup is set to be a critical one for both franchises as they navigate their playoff aspirations.
