Eagles face significant setback as Jalen Carter sidelined for pivotal Chargers matchup

The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for a critical game against the Los Angeles Chargers, but they will have to navigate this challenge without the presence of Jalen Carter. It marks the third game this season where the team will be without the rookie defensive tackle, and this time, the news comes ahead of schedule.

Carter has already missed two games this season, both of which were fraught with uncertainty. In one instance, he was ejected after the opening kickoff during a clash with the Cowboys. In another, his absence was confirmed only at game time against the Giants, due to a shoulder injury that necessitated a procedure on both of his shoulders earlier that week. Now, with the Eagles knowing in advance that Carter will not take the field on Monday night, they can better strategize for the matchup.

Teammate Moro Ojomo expressed the importance of this foresight. “Yeah, 100 percent,” Ojomo remarked. “Now, both times (previously) were last-second things. Now we’ll have maybe more of a game plan, more of an idea going into it. We’re more ready and aware, and ready to perform.” This preparation could prove crucial as the Eagles seek to maintain their momentum.

Despite not recording a sack since October 26 against the Giants, Ojomo remains a key player for the Eagles, leading the team with four sacks this season. While Carter’s absence may require some adjustments in Ojomo’s responsibilities, he emphasized that the changes won’t be overly significant. “Maybe a little bit,” he noted. “Jalen likes to play on the left side of the ball. Little nuances like that can be different to adjust to in who you’re playing and who you’re studying. So yeah, just a little bit.”

As the Eagles gear up for this vital contest, the absence of Jalen Carter looms large. The team will need to rally and adapt in his absence, hoping to secure a vital win against the Chargers.
