Drake London’s Injury Concerns Loom Over Falcons Ahead of Jets Matchup

The Atlanta Falcons are gearing up for a crucial Week 13 clash against the New York Jets, looking to ignite a winning streak. However, uncertainty surrounding player health continues to cast a shadow over the team, particularly concerning star wide receiver Drake London.

London’s Doubtful Status

In his first media availability since the Falcons’ last game, head coach Raheem Morris addressed London’s status following his absence due to a PCL injury. Morris expressed cautious optimism but ultimately labeled London as “doubtful” for the upcoming matchup.

“I’m going to give him all week,” Morris stated, highlighting the team’s commitment to evaluating London’s condition. Despite leaving a sliver of hope for his potential return, Morris emphasized, “I don’t think it’s this week.” Unsurprisingly, London was not spotted during Wednesday’s practice and was marked as a did-not-participate (DNP) on the injury report.

Other Injury Updates

The Falcons’ injury report revealed additional concerns, with All-Pro guard Chris Lindstrom also absent from the media viewing period. Lindstrom has been a consistent DNP in recent weeks as he recuperates but has managed to play through the discomfort thus far.

Long snapper Liam McCullough was noted as a DNP due to personal reasons, while linebacker Josh Woods also missed practice.

On a more positive note, left guard Matthew Bergeron, who had faced a scare during the previous game against New Orleans when his ankle was “leg-whipped,” returned to practice, albeit in a limited capacity. “He looked good coming back,” said Morris, reflecting on Bergeron’s impact. “It was great to have him back out there with his guys, playing together and playing well.”

Limited Participants

Several players were listed as limited participants in Wednesday’s practice. This group included linebackers Divine Deablo, who rested, and JD Bertrand, who is recovering from a knee injury, along with tight end Charlie Woerner, also resting.

Injury Report Summary

Here’s a closer look at the Falcons’ injury report following Wednesday’s practice:

Full Participants
ILB Malik Verdon (shoulder)

Limited Participants
LB JD Bertrand (knee)
G Matthew Bergeron (ankle)
LB Divine Deablo (rest)
TE Charlie Woerner (rest)

As the Falcons prepare for their showdown with the Jets, the team’s health continues to be a pivotal storyline. The status of key players like London could heavily influence their chances on the field, making the coming days critical for both the player and the organization.
