The linebacker, known for his experience against the Dolphins, was selected by the Bills in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft after a standout career at Clemson. In the 2024 season, Spector played in 11 games, starting four, and recorded 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
Standing at 6 feet and weighing 233 pounds, Spector primarily contributed on special teams during his first two years in the league. However, his journey took a detour when he was waived due to a calf injury earlier this month. The Dolphins hope to leverage his skills to reinforce their defensive lineup.
Injury Updates for the Dolphins
The Dolphins’ injury report featured some notable updates following Friday’s practice. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who was previously listed as limited due to a shoulder issue, participated fully, signaling a positive shift in his recovery. Conversely, tight end Darren Waller remains a limited participant, although he is expected to make his debut against the New York Jets on Monday night.
Cornerbacks Storm Duck and Jason Marshall Jr. did not practice again, likely ruling them out for the upcoming game. On a brighter note, safety Ifeatu Melifonwu was a full participant, inching closer to a return to the field.
Jets Prepare for the Matchup
For the Jets, quarterback Justin Fields has returned to practice as a full participant, continuing to recover from a concussion that sidelined him during their close loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Aaron Glenn has indicated that Fields will start against the Dolphins if he receives medical clearance, which appears promising.
The Jets are also dealing with injury setbacks, as edge rusher Jermaine Johnson II and cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. both missed practice for a second consecutive day due to ankle injuries.
