Dolphins and Bills Gear Up for Week 3 Clash Amid Injury Concerns
The Miami Dolphins are preparing for an important Week 3 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, but uncertainty looms as both teams released their injury reports ahead of the game. With the Dolphins not practicing on Monday, their report was based on estimations, revealing a mixed bag of injury statuses.
Dolphins’ Injury Report Highlights
Despite facing a tough loss in Week 2 against the New England Patriots, where five players were sidelined, the Dolphins’ initial assessment for their game against the Bills indicates some positive news. While two key players were estimated to have not practiced, it’s encouraging that only cornerback Storm Duck (ankle) and safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (calf) were marked as non-participants. Duck missed the previous game due to his injury, while Melifonwu suffered his setback during the nail-biting 33-27 defeat.
In addition to Duck and Melifonwu, four other players who missed the game against New England were estimated to have participated in limited practice. This list notably includes tight end Darren Waller, although his availability remains uncertain. Waller’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, recently indicated that the tight end is likely not ready to return from an ongoing hip issue.
The injury report also unveiled three new names: starting center Aaron Brewer (hip), linebacker Chop Robinson (knee), and wide receiver Malik Washington (thumb), all of whom were estimated as limited participants on Monday. Other players lingering on the injury list include cornerback Ethan Bonner (hamstring), defensive tackle Benito Jones (oblique), and running back Jaylen Wright (knee)—all of whom were inactive in Week 2.
A Look at the Bills’ Injury Status
Similarly, the Buffalo Bills did not practice on Monday, leading to an estimation-based injury report that includes six players. Among them, two crucial defensive starters, Matt Milano (pectoral) and Ed Oliver (ankle), were also marked as not practicing.
Three additional players were categorized as limited participants, all defensive players: cornerback Taron Johnson (quad), defensive back Cam Lewis (shoulder), and linebacker Shaq Thompson (hamstring/hand). In more positive news for the Bills, defensive back Jordan Hancock was estimated as a full participant despite dealing with a shoulder injury.
Fans of the Bills can breathe a sigh of relief as quarterback Josh Allen did not appear on the injury report, despite sustaining a bloody nose during their 30-10 victory over the New York Jets in Week 2.
As the Dolphins and Bills prepare for this pivotal matchup, the health and availability of key players will undoubtedly play a significant role in determining the outcome of the game. With both teams facing injury uncertainties, the stage is set for what promises to be an exciting clash in Buffalo.
