Injury Challenges Persist for Dallas Cowboys
Injuries have plagued the Dallas Cowboys throughout the season, yet as they head into Week 15, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer shared some positive updates regarding key players. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been cleared from concussion protocol, allowing him to return to the field. Additionally, tight end Jake Ferguson, who had been dealing with a calf injury sustained during practice, is also expected to play.
Defensive Reinforcements on the Way
Another encouraging development is that linebacker DeMarvion Overshown has had his pitch count lifted. This means the Cowboys could see increased contributions from him as they navigate the final stretch of the season.
Setbacks for Tyler Guyton
However, not all news is favorable. During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys executive Stephen Jones revealed that starting left tackle Tyler Guyton is expected to miss his third consecutive game. Guyton, a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is currently recovering from a high ankle sprain he sustained in the Week 12 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
When discussing the offensive line’s adjustment, Jones indicated that Nate Thomas will likely take the helm at left tackle again this week. “Certainly looks that way at this point,” he said, referring to Thomas’s anticipated role in Guyton’s absence.
As the Cowboys prepare for their upcoming matchup, the team will need to balance the return of some players with the continued absence of others. The road ahead remains challenging, but the Cowboys are hoping to navigate through their injury woes effectively.
