Dallas Cowboys bolster receiving corps with Jalen Cropper amid CeeDee Lamb injury
The Dallas Cowboys are making critical adjustments ahead of their Week 4 clash against the Green Bay Packers as they cope with the absence of star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who is sidelined for multiple weeks due to a high-ankle sprain.
Reinforcements called up
In response to Lamb’s injury, the Cowboys have elevated Jalen Cropper from the practice squad to the active roster. While fans had anticipated the promotion of undrafted free agent Traeshon Holden, the team opted for Cropper, another undrafted talent, to step into the role.
Cropper’s journey with the Cowboys
Cropper joined the Cowboys in 2023 and has since been a consistent presence on the practice squad. Despite being among the final cuts each preseason, he has shown resilience by re-signing with the team shortly thereafter. His NFL experience is limited, having played in only one game where he logged 12 snaps during a tough 34-6 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Limited expectations for playing time
As the Cowboys prepare to face the Packers, it’s anticipated that Cropper may not see substantial playing time on Sunday night. With other options like George Pickens, Jalen Tolbert, and KaVontae Turpin expected to dominate the snaps, Cropper’s involvement could be minimal.
Kickoff for the highly anticipated match between the Cowboys and Packers is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET, broadcast live on NBC and Peacock. Fans and the coaching staff alike will be hoping for a cohesive offensive performance as they adjust to Lamb’s absence.
