Dak Prescott’s Hip Issue Raises Eyebrows, Cowboys Offer Positive Defensive Outlook

The Dallas Cowboys have officially released their first injury report for Week 12 as they gear up for a pivotal clash against the Philadelphia Eagles. While the report includes quarterback Dak Prescott, the news isn’t all concerning, particularly on the defensive front.

Prescott’s Minor Setback

Earlier in the day, head coach Brian Schottenheimer had already hinted at Prescott’s inclusion on the injury report due to a minor hip issue. The quarterback experienced some discomfort during the team’s impressive Monday Night Football victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, but the Cowboys are treating it as a precaution. Schottenheimer confirmed that Prescott will continue to manage his full workload, emphasizing that the listing is merely a safety measure given the quick turnaround after a game.

“Dak is banged up, but it’s not major,” Schottenheimer stated, reassuring fans that there’s no significant cause for concern. The team is exercising caution, especially with the short week ahead of such a crucial game.

Defensive Players Making Progress

While Prescott’s status garners attention, the injury report also brings encouraging news from the defensive side. Veteran defensive lineman Solomon Thomas participated in limited drills, showing signs of improvement, while fellow defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey, who impressed in the preseason, was a full participant in practice.

The report also noted the status of other key players, including defensive ends Jadeveon Clowney and Dante Fowler, safeties Malik Hooker and Donovan Wilson, and guard Tyler Smith. Fortunately, none of these players appear to be at risk of missing the Sunday afternoon matchup against the Eagles.

Game Day Details

The highly anticipated game between the Cowboys and Eagles is set to kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX, featuring commentary from Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady, with sideline reports from Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi. As the Cowboys look to solidify their position in the NFC East, the health of their star quarterback and defensive lineup will be closely monitored leading up to the game.
