Cleveland Browns look to Quinshon Judkins for Week 2 NFL debut against Ravens

The Cleveland Browns have officially inked rookie running back Quinshon Judkins to his first professional contract, setting the stage for his anticipated debut. As the team gears up for their second matchup of the season, all eyes are on whether Judkins will take the field against the Baltimore Ravens.

Judkins’ Potential Week 2 Appearance

Reports suggest that Judkins may not have to wait long to showcase his skills. According to sources, including prominent insiders, there is a “real possibility, and even a likelihood” that the rookie could make his NFL debut in Week 2. As he prepares for this potential milestone, Judkins is also scheduled to meet with NFL officials regarding the league’s investigation into his recent legal troubles.

Legal Troubles and Their Resolution

Judkins faced significant challenges earlier this summer when he was arrested on July 12 in Fort Lauderdale, with a misdemeanor domestic violence charge hanging over his head. However, the charge was dropped last month, clearing the way for his return to football.

The decline memorandum from the case outlined critical factors that led to this decision. It noted that the incident in question was not captured on video surveillance, and there were no independent witnesses to corroborate the claims. Despite the victim providing photographs of alleged injuries, there were also videos from the same period that contradicted these accounts.

Furthermore, the timing of the report raised questions; the victim had multiple opportunities to report the incident without Judkins’ knowledge but chose not to do so. Given these circumstances, the authorities deemed that there was no reasonable likelihood of conviction, leading to the dismissal of the case.

Next Steps for the Browns

While Judkins navigates the aftermath of these events, the Browns are expected to lean heavily on Jerome Ford as their lead running back. Ford will be tasked with carrying the load in the backfield as Judkins works to regain his footing with the team.

As the Browns prepare for their season opener, the football world will be watching closely to see how quickly Judkins can transition from legal hurdles to NFL action. The anticipation builds, with fans eager to witness what this promising rookie can bring to the field.
