The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has suggested that recent indications point toward McCaffrey potentially being active for Week 1. Initially, he was not listed on the injury report at the start of the week. However, he was later added as a limited participant on Thursday due to the calf issue and did not practice on Friday.
McCaffrey’s Optimistic Outlook
When McCaffrey addressed reporters on Friday, he took a measured approach to the situation, emphasizing optimism regarding his condition. “Nothing serious,” he assured. “I feel great about where I’m at. Unfortunately, when you have the injury history that I have, sometimes when you don’t practice, things get blown out of proportion.”
Despite this positive outlook, the 49ers may opt for a cautious approach with their star running back. The team could look to leverage the talents of newly acquired Brian Robinson Jr., who might see a more significant role than initially anticipated.
