Cam Ward stands by Titans’ offensive line ahead of Week 2 clash with Rams

The Tennessee Titans’ offensive line faced significant challenges during their Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward found himself under relentless pressure, resulting in him being sacked six times. Among the players scrutinized for their performance was veteran left tackle Dan Moore. However, Ward came to the defense of his offensive line when asked about their struggles on Thursday.

“Nobody’s gonna be perfect,” Ward asserted. “I want y’all to get up there and try to block one of them big boys on the D-line. It ain’t that easy. Me and the O-line, we’re good.”

Ward, while defending his teammates, acknowledged that he also needs to improve his ability to avoid being sacked. “I take full responsibility,” he admitted, highlighting a sense of accountability that resonates with his leadership as a young quarterback.

Despite the offensive line’s issues, Ward and the Titans had opportunities to secure a victory against one of the NFL’s top defenses. This week, the Titans face an even steeper challenge as they prepare to host the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams boast a formidable defensive line that recently limited C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans to a mere nine points in their opening game.

As the Titans gear up for this crucial Week 2 showdown, both Ward and his offensive line will need to step up their game to counter the Rams’ defensive prowess. The stakes are high, and the pressure is on as they aim to turn their performance around and secure their first win of the season.
