Caleb Williams stuns 49ers with elite arm talent, earns rave reviews from Robert Saleh

Caleb Williams Impresses with Stellar Performance Against 49ers

The spotlight on the Chicago Bears this season has often shifted from quarterback Caleb Williams to the offensive line, especially after Joe Thuney and Drew Dalman earned Pro Bowl selections last week. Yet, while Williams has faced criticism for moments like an underthrown pass in their earlier matchup against the Green Bay Packers, his performance in recent weeks has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Rising Star in the NFC

In the past month, few NFC quarterbacks have delivered as consistently as Williams. His remarkable 46-yard walk-off touchdown pass to DJ Moore in their recent victory over the Packers not only secured the win but also positioned itself as a contender for NFL Play of the Year. The Bears’ fanbase is well aware of Williams’ burgeoning talent, and it seems he is garnering respect from league insiders as well.

Robert Saleh’s Praise

As the Bears prepare for a pivotal Sunday night matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, their defensive coordinator, Robert Saleh, has expressed strong admiration for Williams. Saleh, who joined the 49ers following his dismissal from the New York Jets in 2024, noted the quarterback’s impressive skill set.

“His arm talent is elite,” Saleh remarked. “The guy can rip the ball. He can make every throw. When he starts scrambling, he gets more accurate. He is really, really dangerous when he leaves the pocket. He’s hard to bring down, and I think he’s improved tremendously from a year ago.”

Statistical Progress

With two games remaining in the season, Williams is on the brink of surpassing his impressive statistics from last year. Currently, he has amassed 3,400 passing yards, just shy of the 3,541 he achieved last season. His touchdown count stands at 23, up from 20, with interceptions remaining at six. Equally crucial is the significant drop in his sack count; he has been brought down just 23 times this year, a remarkable improvement compared to last season’s staggering total of 68.

Looking Ahead

As the Bears gear up for their encounter with the 49ers, the contrast between Williams’ performance and the struggles of the previous year is stark. The offensive line, bolstered by the recent Pro Bowl selections, has played a key role in this turnaround. With the potential for further achievements in the remaining games, the spotlight remains firmly on Caleb Williams as he continues to impress both fans and opponents alike.
