Dalton Kincaid on the Brink of a Comeback Against the Bengals

After a month-long absence, Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid is poised to make his return to the field when the Cincinnati Bengals come to Highmark Stadium on December 7. Kincaid has been recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during the November 9 loss to the Miami Dolphins, which has kept him sidelined since then.

A Steady Recovery

Kincaid’s journey back to the lineup began last week when he returned to practice, albeit on a limited basis. He participated in two sessions leading up to the Bills’ November 30 road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was officially listed as questionable. Ultimately, Kincaid was not cleared to play, but his involvement in practice signifies encouraging progress in his recovery.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott provided insight into Kincaid’s status as the team prepared for the Week 13 matchup. He hinted at the possibility of Kincaid returning against the Steelers, reflecting confidence in the tight end’s trajectory. On Monday, McDermott noted that Kincaid was one of four players improving after missing the November 30 game, which adds to the optimism surrounding his return.

Encouraging Updates

Further updates from McDermott on Wednesday reinforced Kincaid’s positive outlook. The coach mentioned that Kincaid, along with two other injured offensive starters, was practicing again, contributing to the team’s hopes for a stronger offensive lineup as the season progresses.

Kincaid’s Impact on the Field

When healthy, the 6-foot-4 Kincaid has proven to be a vital asset for the Bills. He emerged as the team’s most efficient pass-catcher this season, leading the receiving corps through the first nine weeks despite participating in just 42 percent of the offensive snaps.

In his eight appearances, Kincaid recorded 29 receptions on 36 targets, amassing 448 yards and crossing the goal line four times. Notably, his average of 15.4 yards per reception ranks him at the top among all Buffalo receivers with a minimum of 20 catches, highlighting his ability to make significant plays downfield.

As the Bills look to solidify their playoff aspirations, Kincaid’s return could provide a much-needed boost to their offensive strategy. The anticipation surrounding his comeback continues to build as fans eagerly await his re-entry into the game.
