Bron Breakker ignites WWE Raw with Lamar Jackson shoutout in fiery promo against CM Punk
Bron Breakker, a rising star in the WWE, recently electrified fans with a compelling promo that connected the worlds of professional wrestling and the NFL. During a broadcast of WWE Raw, Breakker referenced his brief but impactful experience with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to bolster his claims of superiority over world champion CM Punk.
Breakker, known for his no-nonsense approach, asserted, “Every single thing that I’ve had to do in my entire life has been under a microscope. I’ve had to live up to a higher standard than you could ever imagine. I’ve had to do things at the highest possible level. And what you don’t respect me for because I didn’t pay my dues… Well, guess what? While you were doing that, I was sharing the field with Lamar Jackson, pal. We ain’t the same.”
Breakker’s NFL Journey
Born Bronson Rechsteiner on October 24, 1997, in Georgia, Breakker signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent fullback in April 2020 after showcasing his talents at Kennesaw State University. His collegiate career saw him excel in multiple positions, including running back and fullback, which laid the groundwork for his athletic prowess.
Upon joining the Ravens’ training camp, Breakker quickly captured the coaching staff’s attention with his impressive speed and agility. He ranked among the top four fastest players on the roster, leading to a swift position change from fullback to running back. This move placed him among a competitive group that included standout backs like JK Dobbins, Justice Hill, and Gus Edwards.
Memorable Moments with Jackson
Throughout his time at training camp, Breakker had the unique opportunity to practice alongside Lamar Jackson. One memorable moment stood out for him during a scrimmage involving the first-team offense and defense. “Lamar is crazy. He’s a freak. I remember one time in practice, we were scrimmaging, ones versus ones, and they ran a pass play. Lamar had the ball, scrambling around in the backfield, and he made four or five guys miss. We’re not talking about lower-level guys. These were top-five draft picks on our squad. He’s insane,” Breakker recalled, highlighting Jackson’s elite athleticism.
Despite his impressive performances, Breakker’s journey in the NFL faced a significant hurdle due to COVID-19 restrictions. The league limited rosters to just 80 players during the 2020 season, which ultimately led to Breakker being released in August 2020. His professional football career was cut short after only a few months, but he swiftly pivoted to pursue a career in WWE.
A New Chapter in Wrestling
Now, as he prepares to face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship on January 5, 2026, Breakker’s connection to Jackson serves as a powerful reminder of his competitive spirit and the high standards he holds himself to. The transition from the football field to the wrestling ring has been a significant move, but Breakker’s experiences in the NFL continue to shape his journey in the squared circle.
