Brandon Graham shines with two sacks in Eagles’ dominant victory over Raiders
Brandon Graham put on a defensive showcase on Sunday, delivering a punishing performance that saw him take down quarterback Kenny Pickett twice. This marked Graham’s first two-sack game since January 1, 2022, when he also recorded a pair against the New Orleans Saints. The Philadelphia Eagles handily defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 31-0, with Graham’s contributions playing a pivotal role.
Reflecting on his impactful day, Graham shared his lighthearted thoughts on sacking Pickett. “It felt good,” he remarked with a chuckle. “I was like, ‘Dang, Kenny, I’m sorry, but brother, you’re in the way.’” The veteran defensive end embraced the moment, expressing his joy at being back on the field. “It was cool to go out there and talk some stuff, have some fun, and of course, make plays because it’s been a while. It’s definitely been a while being here five weeks. I feel like training camp is over, and I feel like myself now.”
At 37 years old, Graham’s resurgence is nothing short of remarkable. Just months ago, he announced his retirement, delivering an emotional speech that seemed to signal the end of his storied career. Yet, in an unexpected turn, he returned to the field on October 21, ready to inspire his teammates with his experience and tenacity.
Graham’s performance on Sunday was not just a testament to his skill but also a motivational force for the Eagles. Having previously achieved a career-high of 11 sacks in a season, Graham continues to defy expectations, proving that age is just a number when it comes to passion and commitment to the game.
