Injury Report Raises Concerns for Dolphins Ahead of Commanders Showdown
The Miami Dolphins are gearing up for their Week 11 clash against the Washington Commanders, but the latest injury report has added a layer of uncertainty that has left fans uneasy.
Chubb’s Surprising Appearance on the Injury Report
The team’s outside linebacker, Bradley Chubb, made an unexpected appearance on the injury report, listed as questionable due to a foot injury. This is significant as it marks the first time he has appeared on the injury report this week. Chubb was limited during Friday’s practice, raising eyebrows given his previous full participation ahead of the game against the Buffalo Bills, where he delivered one of his standout performances of the season.
Chubb’s health is crucial for the Dolphins, especially with the team eyeing a critical matchup in Spain. If he is unable to play, rookie Chop Robinson is poised to step in as a starter alongside veteran Matthew Judon. Robinson was cleared from concussion protocol and did not receive a game status designation, making him a viable option should Chubb miss the game.
Other Key Injuries Impacting the Dolphins
While the Dolphins did not rule out any players on Friday, there were notable concerns regarding tackle Austin Jackson. He is listed as doubtful following limited participation in practice this week as he continues his recovery from a toe injury sustained in Week 1. It seems likely that Jackson will require additional time before returning to the lineup, potentially being downgraded to out on Saturday.
In addition to Chubb and Jackson, cornerback Rasul Douglas and wide receiver Dee Eskridge also find themselves on the questionable list due to foot/ankle and shoulder injuries, respectively. Both players missed the Dolphins’ previous game, a commanding 30-13 victory over the Bills. However, JuJu Brents’ commendable performance in Douglas’ absence provides some reassurance for the defense.
On a more positive note, center Aaron Brewer, who had been dealing with foot and ankle issues, showed improvement throughout the week and received no game status designation. The Dolphins are also bringing back tight end Julian Hill, who could alter their offensive strategy. Hill is known for his blocking capabilities, which may reduce the need for a sixth offensive lineman in their schemes.
Commanders’ Injury Report Adds to the Tension
The Washington Commanders have also been dealing with their share of injuries, ruling out three players earlier this week, including quarterback Jayden Daniels, wide receiver Treylon Burks, and linebacker Ale Kaho. The final injury report added further concerns, particularly for star wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who is battling a quad injury. Linebacker Ale Kaho remains in concussion protocol, and defensive end Drake Jackson, currently on injured reserve with a knee injury, has recently returned to practice.
The Commanders have listed two players as questionable, including linebacker Jordan Magee, who was limited in practice due to a knee issue, and tight end Ben Sinnott, who appeared on the injury report with an ankle injury and did not practice on Friday.
As the Dolphins prepare for their international showdown, the injury landscape on both sides could have a significant impact on the game’s outcome. With critical players potentially sidelined, both teams are navigating a precarious road to kickoff.
