CINCINNATI — In a pivotal clash that could define their season, the Bengals have made strategic roster adjustments ahead of Thursday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. The team has elevated linebacker Gary Brightwell and cornerback Jalen Davis from the practice squad to the active roster, hoping to bolster their lineup for this critical matchup.

With the season hanging in the balance, Cincinnati is eager to capitalize on every opportunity, especially as they look to protect Joe Burrow during what could be a defining moment in his career, particularly after his recent recovery from a toe injury. However, the Bengals face significant challenges, as they will be without key players Trey Hendrickson and Tee Higgins for this contest.

Chase’s Return Sparks Optimism

Head coach Zac Taylor acknowledged the impact of Higgins’ absence in their previous game, noting the defensive strategies that hindered their performance. “I feel they do a good job of playing from the top down, taking away some of the quick stuff by pressing,” Taylor explained. “You can’t get the ball out of your hands quickly when they’re executing that well.”

He elaborated on how defenses often adjust to shutdown key players like Higgins, emphasizing the importance of maintaining rhythm in their offensive plays. “With Tee specifically, you’re always shading his way, trying to throw off his rhythm, whether that’s at the line of scrimmage or holding your ground 10 yards down the field,” Taylor said.

Aiming for an Upset Against the Ravens

As the Bengals prepare to square off against their division rivals, all eyes will be on Chase as he looks to make an immediate impact. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET, and with the stakes so high, Cincinnati will aim to unleash Chase and turn the tide against Baltimore.
