Adoree’ Jackson Applauds Eagles’ Emerging Talents Mitchell and DeJean
Veteran presence Adoree’ Jackson has witnessed firsthand the impressive growth of second-year cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean for the Philadelphia Eagles. As both players emerge as serious contenders for All-Pro honors, Jackson, now in his ninth season, is nothing short of impressed by their dedication and performance on the field.
A Humble Work Ethic
In a recent reflection on his younger teammates, Jackson highlighted Mitchell’s work ethic and mindset.
“I’ve played with some great corners—Malcolm Butler, James Bradberry, and Logan Ryan—and to see Q and his mentality, how humble he is, and how he comes in to work every day, it’s remarkable,” Jackson stated.
He continued to praise Mitchell’s consistency, noting, “He just puts his head down and works. To be his age and to be able to come in here and do it day in and day out speaks volumes about him as a player and, more importantly, as a person.”
Mitchell’s Lockdown Ability
Mitchell has established himself as one of the league’s premier outside cornerbacks this season. As reported by Pro Football Focus, he has faced 75 targets, yielding a mere 32 receptions for 335 yards. This translates to an impressive 42.7 completion percentage against him, with opposing quarterbacks registering a passer rating of only 56.3 when attempting passes in his direction.
What sets Mitchell apart? Jackson attributes it to his relentless spirit and fearlessness. “Being relentless, his fearlessness, just his demeanor… you have to have a certain demeanor to play corner, and I think he has that,” Jackson explained.
He elaborated on Mitchell’s presence, saying, “You can see how he walks, how he talks, and his swagger. A lot of people think DBs are supposed to be exaggerated with ego and swagger, but for me, it’s how Q comes in and handles himself. I think that’s what a true DB is—just going out there, playing his game, not saying much, and then doing it the next snap, the next game.”
Looking Ahead
As the Eagles continue their campaign, the spotlight on Mitchell and DeJean only intensifies. With Jackson’s endorsement, the rising stars are not just players to watch; they are becoming essential components of Philadelphia’s defensive strategy. Their growth and consistency are paving the way for potential accolades as the season unfolds.
