The Houston Rockets entered the season with high hopes, but the landscape has shifted dramatically since Fred VanVleet’s ACL tear in late September. Once viewed as potential playoff contenders, the Rockets find themselves grappling with a critical void at point guard, a situation that has significantly hampered their aspirations as December unfolds.

The Rockets faced a harsh reality check on Tuesday night, suffering their most embarrassing defeat of the season at the hands of the struggling Los Angeles Clippers, who boasted a dismal 8-21 record prior to the matchup. The 128-108 loss was a glaring indicator of the issues plaguing the Rockets. They allowed nearly 70 points during the second and third quarters, showcasing an alarming lack of competitiveness, particularly on the offensive end.
