Suns Anticipate Grayson Allen’s Return Against Kings

The Phoenix Suns are gearing up for their Friday night showdown against the Sacramento Kings, and the latest injury report brings a glimmer of hope.

Injury Updates Ahead of Key Matchup

The Suns will face the Kings with the following status updates on their players:

OUT: Jalen Green (hamstring)
QUESTIONABLE: Grayson Allen (right knee)
AVAILABLE: Jordan Goodwin (jaw sprain)

The potential return of Grayson Allen is particularly promising, as he has been sidelined for the past seven games due to a right knee injury. The Suns had hoped he would rejoin the lineup at the start of their road trip, especially during a back-to-back in New Orleans, but have opted for a cautious approach regarding his recovery.

Cautious Optimism from the Coaching Staff

Suns coach Jordan Ott expressed optimism about Allen’s progress, stating, “It’s just time. It continues to progress. It’s just a time thing.” He emphasized the importance of allowing Allen ample time to recover fully. “Anytime you get two days in between games in the NBA season—which I feel like we’ve had a lot here in December with the schedule breakup—that’s probably been around the NBA. But yeah, if we could have three days it’d be better to get him back.”

Allen’s contributions have been significant this season, establishing himself as a reliable shooting option alongside Devin Booker and demonstrating his ability to drive to the basket.

Game Time and Additional Player Status

The opening tip-off between the Suns and Kings is set for 7:00 PM MST at the Mortgage Matchup Center in downtown Phoenix. As for Jalen Green, he remains out as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined since training camp, with evaluations set to take place in a few weeks. Meanwhile, Jordan Goodwin is expected to suit up, wearing a facemask to protect his jaw after a sprain.

Suns Looking to Bounce Back After Setback

The Suns aim to bounce back after a recent loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, seeking to regain momentum and build on their strengths as they face a formidable Kings team. The return of Allen, if it materializes, could prove pivotal in their efforts to reclaim their winning form.
