Kevin Durant hailed as NBA’s greatest scorer ever by Morris twins: “No one scored like KD”

Kevin Durant’s Legacy as the NBA’s Greatest Scorer

As Kevin Durant dons the Houston Rockets jersey in what may be the concluding chapter of a remarkable career, his star power remains undiminished. At 37, he continues to showcase his prowess as one of the league’s most efficient and talented players. This season, Durant is averaging an impressive 25.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, significantly contributing to the Rockets’ strong performance.

Rockets’ Offensive Surge

The Rockets currently hold a record of 16-8, and Durant’s offensive presence has a ripple effect on the entire team. His ability to draw defensive attention allows teammates to find their rhythm, propelling Houston to third in the league for offensive rating. The 6-foot-11 sharpshooter’s unique skill set not only highlights his individual talent but also elevates the collective effort of the Rockets.

The Scoring Debate

Durant has long been celebrated as one of the NBA’s all-time great scorers, and opinions are shifting toward the belief that he may be the greatest of all time. His accolades include multiple appearances in the exclusive 50-40-90 club, a feat matched only by legends Steve Nash and Larry Bird across more than one season. This elite scoring ability draws admiration from former NBA players, including twins Marcus and Markieff Morris, who have faced Durant numerous times throughout their careers.

Morris Twins Weigh In

When posed with the question of who holds the title of the greatest scorer in NBA history, Markieff Morris did not hesitate to name Durant. His rationale adds weight to the ongoing debate. “I think he’s the best scorer in NBA history. Me, personally. My thoughts on the game: he’s the best in NBA history,” Morris stated passionately. He emphasized the uniqueness of Durant’s skill set, highlighting that no other player of his height has been able to score off the dribble with such finesse.

Markieff elaborated, “There’s no other player that was 6-11 that was getting off the dribble like that. 7-foot. Hang dribble and longevity, none of them scored like KD. Even though they’re like [Michael] Jordan was Jordan, he had the fadeaway.” His respect for Durant’s scoring ability is evident, noting that Durant’s style was revolutionary for a player of his stature.

The Competition: Jordan and LeBron

While there are formidable competitors in this conversation, notably Michael Jordan, Durant’s versatility as a scorer sets him apart. LeBron James, often considered the greatest of all time, is recognized more for his all-around game than purely for scoring. In clutch situations where a basket is paramount, Durant’s combination of height, agility, ball-handling, and shooting finesse positions him as a unique threat.

Looking Ahead

As the Slim Reaper continues to deliver stellar performances, the Rockets find themselves positioned as a formidable contender in the playoffs. With a balanced roster that excels on both ends of the court, Houston aims to challenge for the championship. Durant’s contributions will be pivotal as they look to make a deep playoff run, further solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest scorers the NBA has ever seen.
