His shooting, once a strong suit, has taken a nosedive. After hitting over 40% of his three-point attempts in his first two seasons, he now struggles at just 31.4%. Additionally, his two-point shooting has also faltered, sitting at a modest 34.9%.
The ball frequently stagnates once it reaches Walker’s hands, and he has shown a tendency for lapses in defensive focus. As Hughes pointed out, “Two-plus years into his career, the former lottery pick looks less like a contributor on a good team than ever.”

With the Pacers staring down the February 5 trade deadline, Walker’s future with the team hangs in the balance. If he cannot turn his season around, the franchise may consider parting ways with him, especially if an enticing trade offer materializes. Should he remain with the team past the deadline, he is likely to finish the season in Indiana, but his long-term prospects with the Pacers could still be uncertain.
