Golden State Warriors’ gamble on Moses Moody pays off with breakout season and stellar contract value

Date:

Warriors’ Investment in Moses Moody Yields Impressive Returns

The Golden State Warriors made a savvy move when they extended Moses Moody’s contract just before the start of the 2024-25 season. As Moody entered his fourth year in the league, he was a part of the rotation but had yet to fully realize his potential. With the guidance of his agent, Rich Paul, the two sides struck a deal for a three-year extension worth $37.5 million, which could rise to $39 million with performance incentives. Now, as Moody embarks on the first year of that extension, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Warriors may have locked in one of the best value contracts in the NBA.

Moody’s Breakout Season

This season, Moses Moody is undeniably having a breakout year. His development is evident through a steady improvement in his statistics, showcasing his growing impact on the court.

To illustrate his progression, here’s a closer look at his numbers over the past few seasons:

2021-22: 4.4 PTS, 0.8 3PT, 36.4% 3PT%
2022-23: 4.8 PTS, 0.8 3PT, 36.3% 3PT%
2023-24: 8.1 PTS, 1.1 3PT, 36.0% 3PT%
2024-25: 9.8 PTS, 1.7 3PT, 37.4% 3PT%

The upward trajectory of Moody’s performance is striking. His scoring has nearly doubled since his rookie season, reflecting both increased opportunity and his enhanced skill set. This improvement is not only a testament to his hard work but also to the Warriors’ belief in his potential.

As the season progresses, expectations will continue to rise for Moody, and so will the scrutiny of his performance. However, if his current trend continues, the Warriors’ decision to invest in him will undoubtedly pay off both on the court and in their long-term financial strategy.
