Williams has revealed its new Formula 1 car for the 2024 season during a test run in Bahrain. This is the first time the public has seen the FW46, as all 10 teams have now unveiled their vehicles for the upcoming season. Back in February, Williams held an event to showcase a new livery for the season, but not the actual car. Team principal James Vowles acknowledged that the FW46 is running behind schedule due to significant changes in the team’s approach to design and development. These changes were necessary to modernize their technology and improve performance, but they also carried a high level of risk. Despite this setback, Williams had a successful 2023 F1 campaign, finishing seventh in the constructors’ championship with 28 points. The team hopes that the new FW46 will address the limitations of their previous car, the FW45, particularly in certain types of corners. Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant will continue as the team’s drivers for the 2024 season.
