Oliver Rowland, from Nissan, acknowledged that although his results in qualifying are not meeting his personal expectations, his performance in Season 10 has been one of the strongest of his career. After an impressive display, starting from 15th on the grid and securing third place, Rowland achieved his fifth podium of the season. When asked about his performance, Rowland stated: “In terms of the race, yes – I believe I am doing well. However, when it comes to qualifying, I feel like I am leaving something behind and not reaching the desired level. It’s something I need to address and regain my confidence.” Despite recognizing that Nissan’s efficiency is not at the same level as Porsche and Jaguar, Rowland believes he is managing the races effectively. Looking ahead to the second race of the doubleheader, Rowland acknowledges the increased importance of qualifying due to the race being two laps shorter. He explains: “Qualifying will have a much greater significance tomorrow. Today is also important, because starting at the front would save me one or two percent of energy, as I wouldn’t have to fight to get back to the pack. So, my focus is on improving my performance and securing a better lap time tomorrow.”
