Returning to the Formula 1 calendar for the first time in two years, the weekend in China provided notable points of discussion, as Max Verstappen and Red Bull showed their supremacy with a convincing victory.
McLaren and Lando Norris were pleasantly surprised with their second place, as they did not expect their car to be suitable for the Shanghai circuit. However, they were proven wrong, as Lando performed admirably, finishing just behind Max. Sergio Perez, who qualified second on Saturday in his formidable RBR20, only managed a third place on Sunday after losing a position on the first lap and struggling to recover afterwards.
Fernando Alonso also impressed for Aston Martin, performing an incredible recovery and delivering another passionate performance as an experienced veteran. In contrast, Lance Stroll had a dismal performance in the team’s other car.
Mercedes also had a disappointing showing, albeit to a lesser extent, as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell struggled to make significant progress with a below-par package.
