McLaughlin celebrated his victory at Barber Motorsports Park for the second consecutive year. When the IndyCar arrived at the park this weekend, the focus was on the late disqualification of two of the three Team Penske drivers. Despite the controversy, McLaughlin managed to stay focused on the race and made the right fuel strategy choices. He stood out in the pack and ended up winning the race. Will Power finished in second place, securing another podium without a win. Team Penske’s strong performance on the podium showed that they can still win races despite the controversy. Linus Lundqvist secured the final spot on the podium, achieving his first podium in the series. The race had several incidents and different fuel strategies, resulting in a record number of overtakes on the track. Pato O’Ward had a tough day, spinning off track and colliding with Pietro Fittipaldi. Both drivers received penalties for their contact. The most unusual incident of the day involved a mannequin artwork falling on the grass beside the track. Looking ahead, teams and drivers will have to face more questions about the disqualification news in the coming weeks before returning to the track at IMS.
