Before this weekend’s Monaco ePrix, Formula E announced that their latest car, the zero emission car, will have impressive speed capabilities. It will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.82 seconds (0-100kph in 1.86 seconds), which is 30% faster than a current F1 car. Additionally, it will have a top speed of 200 mph when introduced in season 11.
Not only is the zero emission car fast, but it is also the most efficient formula car to date. Its electric motor will provide over 90% efficiency, a significant improvement compared to the typical 40% efficiency of internal combustion engines.
Jeff Dodds, CEO of the Formula E series, expressed his excitement for the GEN3 Evo, stating that it marks an innovative chapter in the evolution of Formula E. He emphasized the series’ dedication to innovation and sustainable performance.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, president of the FIA, the governing body of motorsport, praised the zero emission car for its advancements in electric racing technology. He sees it as another significant leap for the sport.
In addition to its speed and efficiency, the zero emission car will also be the first Formula E car to have four-wheel drive. This feature will be active during qualifying and race starts, providing an additional advantage. The car will also have a more durable and robust body, ensuring durability during races.
