Charles Leclerc expressed his disappointment after a disappointing qualifying session for the Canadian Grand Prix in Formula 1. Ferrari, despite being the favorite after their victory in Monaco, did not perform well and both Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were eliminated in Q2. Leclerc admitted that using newer tires at the beginning of the session did not work out and that the team lacked pace in dry conditions. He also mentioned that they couldn’t understand why the positive balance they found in the car during wet practices did not translate into later sessions. Ferrari has struggled to generate tire temperature in previous races, and Leclerc hinted that this problem had resurfaced. Sainz agreed with Leclerc, attributing the poor performance to lack of grip and the inability to have a clean session.
